10 Things of Thankful

One of my goals this year was to  express gratitude more often. At times, that’s hard with everything going on. Dad’s in a deep depression and I don’t know how to help him, especially when he tends to threaten drastic measures when he doesn’t get his way. Jamey is having so many issues and we’re all still trying to find our way since Mom’s passing. It takes time and work to find those little moments of gratitude. Recently, on one of my posts, a new friend told me about another blog hop that I might enjoy, and while checking it out, I came across 10 Things of Thankful. Exactly what I was looking for!

Each week, the challenge is to post 10 things we are thankful for during our week, or something we’re looking forward to in the coming week. Look for something each day that we are grateful for, and an extra on harder days! I love it.

Saturday, I ended up with whatever bug Mr Edward had brought home from school. Everyone left me sleep!

Sunday, I was starting to feel much better. My crew still allowed me to rest.

Very early Monday, I was finally able to eat something (Being able to eat is a very very good thing.)

Monday, I hatched a Chansey and a Snorlax in Pokemon Go! And they’re both keepers! (Good evaluations!)

Tuesday, I had dropped my lighter in the car and only realised it when I went to the bus stop at Children’s for a cigarette (shush, I know, horrible habit) One of the other Mom’s gave me a light. Believe me, that’s no small gratitude when Tuesday was a pretty stressful day AND Jim took 28 into Pittsburgh. I despise Route 28.

Wednesday, I found the notebook I was looking for with the number I needed to try to get some help with SSI for Jamey.

Wednesday was also a fantastic warm up in weather. Despite the freezing rain in the morning.

Wednesday, Mini Mister had a 2 hour delay. I got to sleep in!

Thursday I finally stuck up to my Dad and it didn’t go badly at all!

And this weekend is now a four day weekend with my Mini Mister. No school on Monday. Another day to sleep in!

I’m going to enjoy this link up 🙂

  1. Hi, and welcome to the Ten Things of Thankful! Sounds like you’re having a stressful time at the moment, so I really hope you find this a useful exercise and a welcoming community 🙂

    1. Life can be stressful 🙂 Thank you for the warm welcome, and thinking about the post all week DID really help me to find the silver lining in a lot of situations.

  2. Welcome! It’s always exciting to meet new TToTers! Eating and sleep are very good things; enjoy your 4 day weekend!

  3. I was so delighted that you followed my trail to TToT, and I hope to see it soon back up and running in the blogsphere as well! You came up with a wonderful set of thankfuls during trying times, which is when I think it serves us best. When life is hard it is so easy to get sucked under, and if we can just start to focus on tiny things that make us feel better, we will feel our attitude improving and that is so contagious! I commend you for the courage to talk to your dad about how his comments were upsetting you. Honest dialog is a good thing! I hope that you have overcome your bug too, mine’s slowly departing, and that we’ll both be in good form for next weekend. I’ll be watching for you! 🙂

    1. I’m glad you’re feeling better! Dad’s proving to be a hard case. I seriously may have to pull out the big guns. His sisters.
